Getting the Power Right (Without Ruining Your Product)
When we’re talking specs, we focus on two things: the light spectrum and stability. If you’re running a high-speed line, you need mercury or LED arrays that hit a very specific wavelength. Why? Because that’s what tells the photoinitiators in your coating to snap into place instantly. But here is the tricky part. You have to balance your power with your belt speed. If you crank up the wattage but keep the conveyor slow, you’re going to have a bad time. You’ll end up warping the material or “over-curing” the surface. That’s how you get a finish that feels brittle and cracks under pressure.It’s a balancing act.
Making It Fit Your Setup
Nobody wants to spend a weekend rewiring an entire electrical cabinet just to add a new lamp. We get that. Our approach to ODM is all about the footprint. We design the housing and cooling manifolds so the lamps can run 24/7 without burning out. We also use shielded cabling and industrial connectors. This keeps the electrical noise (EMI) from messing with your PLC signals. Basically, it’s a drop-in replacement. The Heat Problem
Here’s the thing: high-intensity UV creates a lot of heat. A lot. We use reflectors to push as much energy as possible toward your product, but the air around the lamp still gets scorched. If your exhaust system can’t keep up, the lamp temperature spikes. When that happens, the light spectrum shifts, and suddenly your cure rate drops. To stop that from happening, we give you the thermal maps.
