But here is the catch: physics doesn’t lie. If you try to “cheat” the system by cranking up the voltage to speed up your line, you’re going to kill the tube faster. It’s a simple trade-off. You can go faster, or you can go longer. You just can’t do both.

A few tips for the install
These are designed to be drop-in replacements, so they should slide right into your existing arrays. We keep the end-cap dimensions tight because nothing is worse than a loose fit that causes arcing at the socket. While you’re at it,check your reflectors. If they’re covered in dust, your irradiance drops. Most people make the mistake of running their lamps hotter to make up for the dirt, which just burns the tube out faster. Keep them clean, and your lamps will thank you. One last thing: watch your cooling fans. If heat builds up at the ends of the tube, the quartz seal can crack. And once that happens, the tube is done. Keep it cool, keep it clean, and you’ll be set.
